- The Kings Theatre has a couple of treats in store, Roald Dahl's children's favourite The BFG is on from 7 to 11 April. From 13 to 18 April two mighty figures Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart perform Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot but you need to book now as there are only a few seats in the gods left.

The Edinburgh International Science Festival runs from 4 to 18 April. 2009 is both the Year of Astronomy and the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth so this yeras programme promises to be fascinating for both adults and child.
